- Fire Chief Bob Khan knows that, healthy or not, the flu and its complications can stop him and his crew of 2,000 firefighters in their tracks. Bob’s crew works in dangerous conditions, often inhaling smoke and fumes that can lead to respiratory problems. They also are in close contact with members of the community on a daily basis, increasing their risk of contracting the flu, which can be deadly. Bob considers annual immunization a life-saving measure and is sharing the message with his crew and local residents.
